Treaty 6 Land Acknowledgment* New and

As we begin this new school year, we acknowledge that we are on Treaty 6 territory, the traditional and ancestral lands of the Cree, Dene, Nakota Sioux, Saulteaux, and Métis peoples. This land has been, and continues to be, a place of teaching, learning, and community.

In the spirit of reconciliation, let us start this school year by committing to learn from the land, from each other, and from Indigenous ways of knowing. May we approach this year with respect, curiosity, and a willingness to grow together.

Alors que nous commençons cette nouvelle année scolaire, nous reconnaissons que nous sommes situés sur le territoire du Traité no 6, les terres traditionnelles et ancestrales des peuples cris, denes, nakota sioux, saulteaux et métis. Cette terre a toujours été, et demeure encore aujourd’hui, un lieu d’enseignement, d’apprentissage et de communauté.

Dans un esprit de réconciliation, commençons cette année scolaire en nous engageant à apprendre de la terre, les uns des autres, et des savoirs autochtones. Puissions-nous entreprendre cette année avec respect, curiosité et ouverture à grandir ensemble.
